Pick Up Routine

8/26/2022

Please make sure you have communicated clearly with your child where you will meet them for pick up after school. Students will be walked up to the north gate near the office after school.

Dismissal Procedures - Grades TK-5 All parents must make an 8.5x11 sign with their child’s First and Last name, Teacher Name, and Room Number listed.
  • All TK and K students will be picked up at the front gate. Parents must park and pick up their child at the front gate each day. Please show a staff member your sign with your child’s name, teacher, and grade and they will call your child for dismissal. All parents will wait outside the gate for their child to be dismissed.
  • Grades 1-5 When you pull up to pick up your child in the afternoon a staff member will call the teacher on a walkie talkie for dismissal. If you are walking up to pick up your child, please bring your sign and show a staff member who will assist you and call your child.
  • Grades K, 2, 3 and 5 will be dismissed out the front gate.
  • Grades 1 and 4 will be dismissed out the middle gate.
This dismissal procedure worked out really well last school year. Please be patient. It may seem a bit hectic the first few days of school, but once we get through the first few days, it should run smoothly.

Tardies

8/26/2022

Every minute of the school day is important. School begins at 8:20 AM. Instruction begins promptly at the start of the day and I become
concerned when your child misses part of the morning lesson.

Please set your child up for success by selecting clothing the night before,
packing backpacks the night before, and setting an alarm clock that provides time for the entire morning routine.

Thank you!

If your child plans on bringing their lunch, please make sure it has been packed and is in their backpack BEFORE school starts. You will not be able to drop off your child's lunch in the office or hand it through the gate. If your child forgets their lunch, they can get lunch from the cafeteria.

Health and Safety Guidelines Related to Covid

8/5/2021

Picture
As a district we are following the guidelines set forth by the LA County Department of Public Health regarding COVID 19 and the Delta Variant. We will remain in constant communication with you to provide you with the latest updates and information regarding those guidelines as we receive them.
  •  As stated in the district’s COVID update #50 “We have shared in previous Coronavirus Updates during last school year, and as Gov. Gavin Newsom has said since the introduction of “California’s Safe Schools for All Plan” (first announced in December 2020), there is an expectation for California schools to resume full-day, in-person instruction this fall. As we prepare to engage in a more “normal” schedule this school year, we want to reaffirm our commitment to following all current local and statewide health and safety guidelines and will do everything in our control to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and families.
  • Current Mask and Health and Safety Guidelines
As of July 17, the LA County Department of Public Health reinstated its mask mandate, which applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status. To align with current health and safety guidance, we will require our students and staff, absent an exemption, to wear masks while indoors throughout the school day. Additionally, as of July 12, 2021, the California Department of Public Health shared, “evidence indicates that in-person instruction can occur safely without minimum physical distancing requirements when other mitigation strategies (e.g., masking) are fully implemented.” Accordingly, we will not have a minimum physical distancing requirement on our campuses. We will continue to work closely with our local and state public health departments to implement any and all health and safety guidelines should any changes be made.

Arrival Procedures

8/5/2021

Arrival Procedures - Grades TK-5
  • Students can be dropped off as early as 7:45 a.m. We will have adult supervision in the Pavillion area. Students will enter from the front gate.
  • The first bell rings at 8:10. Students will proceed to the playground where they will be picked up by their teacher in a designated time at 8:20 a.m.
  • Students arriving after 8:20 are considered tardy. If your child arrives at the school after 8:20, you must park and walk your child to the office to sign in.
Keep in mind, the first two days of school, August 12th and 13th, parents who arrive between 8:10 and 8:20 may walk their child to their classroom. Beginning Monday, August 16th parents will need to drop off their child at the front gate only.
